12 days of technology, Day 5: HP Sprocket Photo Printer

blog 5.png

This holiday season, MyITpros is doing all the shopping for you! Whether you’re technically savvy or not, we’ve got 12 awesome gadgets picked out that are sure to make you the gift-giving hit of the season!

What it is: HP Sprocket Photo Printer

Have a camera roll full of gorgeous pictures, and no way to share them in real life? Enter the HP Sprocket Photo Printer, which makes printing your pictures as easy as posting them on social media. The Sprocket creates 2x3 inch snapshots or stickers via Bluetooth technology, allowing your friends to connect and print instantly as well!

The Sprocket is the size of a cellphone and only weighs about 6 ounces. It comes with a 10-sheet pack of photo paper and requires no ink to work – the printer paper has crystals on each sheet that show up as colors when heated.

One of the most fun aspects of the Sprocket is the free app you can use to customize your photos before printing. Add text, change fonts and colors, add stickers and borders – there are lots of fun options to make your photos truly memorable before you print them or post them directly to your social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram!

How much it costs: $129.99

The HP Sprocket is available on the HP site, on Amazon through third-party sellers and via other major retailers like Best Buy. You have the choice of two colors, black or white. You can also buy replacement packs of photo paper for $10 a set.

Who to buy it for: The social butterfly in your life

One of the best things about this device is that anyone can connect to it and print photos via Bluetooth – it’s effectively a mobile photo booth of sorts that’s perfect for holiday parties or nights out on the town. The HP Sprocket is light and portable enough to bring to any event, making it easy for your super-social friend or family member to quickly become the coolest person in the room when they start handing out take-home photo favors!
