As I sat down to write about everything I’m thankful for this year, I realized that “everything” could really be better described as everyone. This post is a way for me to express my gratitude for the people who are so important to MyITpros – our clients and our employees who make me happy and grateful to get up in the morning and come to work.
Thanks to our clients for letting us be part of their success
MyITpros is fortunate to do business in a community where small businesses and the people who work with them are thriving. This year, seven of our clients made the Austin Business Journal’s Fast 50 list of rapidly growing companies in the area, and another handful were listed on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in the country. What’s more, among a dozen Austin-area businesses that went public in 2016, two were our clients. I’m thankful for the privilege of meeting these organizations’ IT needs over the years, and for the opportunity to see them grow from fledgling startups to publicly traded companies.
Additionally, two of our clients received RecognizeGood’s Ethics in Business & Community award. Ethics are a key part of MyITpros (in fact, the core value we hold most dear is “do the right thing”) so when clients who share this commitment are publicly recognized for it, I’m very grateful. And while we’re on the topic of doing right, I’m thankful that 10 of the finest nonprofit organizations in Central Texas are MyITpros clients. They’re doing tremendous work in healthcare, education and children’s services, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to provide the technology support that keeps their systems working reliably so they can focus on building a better community.
Thanks to our employees for all they give (and give back)
When I first joined MyITpros 12 years ago, there were just three employees; at last count, there were 33. Of course, I am grateful for this growth, but more than that, I’m thankful to have a team of employees who are truly committed to doing right by our clients. Our employees have a genuine desire to help others and to grow and learn in the process,.reflecting the core values that guide our company every day. You can’t ask for more than that from your team.
Our employees are also deeply committed to giving back to their community, much like the nonprofit organizations we’re so happy to serve. This year, our employees participated in numerous service events, such as putting together care packages for U.S. troops and donating jackets to the Coats for Kids program. There’s a true spirit of generosity within our people, and a willingness to give time and resources that I believe reflects our culture of being of service. I’m thankful to have each and every one of them as part of our organization.
I’ve said before on this blog that we don’t think of MyITpros as being in the technology business; rather, we consider ourselves as working in customer service. People are at the center of everything we do, so it’s no surprise that they are at the core of my thankfulness this season. What about you? What are you thankful for this year?
